Thermal Transfer Ribbons

PRISYM^ID supply thermal transfer ribbons to satisfy any Auto-ID labelling requirement, from general-purpose wax to high-performance resin, and in a range of colours. Our high quality ribbons are suitable for a wide range of direct marking and inline printing applications.

We ensure that our thermal ribbons are matched to the performance requirements of the label material to be printed and the thermal transfer printer on which they will be used. 100% compatibility is critical to the successful implementation of bar code labelling systems.

Revolutionary Printhead Cleaner
(Clean Start Technology)

To make printhead cleaning faster and easier, many of our ribbons now incorporate Clean Start, an innovative printhead cleaner built into the ribbon. Simply pull it through the locked printhead, at the start of each ribbon, to remove debris before it builds up on the printhead This will help extend printhead life, maximise productivity and ensure high-quality, consistent printing.

Clean Start is a constant reminder to clean the printhead every time a new ribbon is installed.

All our ribbons are engineered for use with Sato, Zebra, Sony, Datamax, Toshiba TEC, Intermec, Astro-Med, Printronix and other leading thermal transfer printers.

Wax Ribbons

The most economical choice for general purpose tag and labelling applications including shipping, warehousing, retail, textile, and apparel. Choose a wax ribbon when printing on uncoated and coated paper tag and label stocks, and low end filmic labels. Ideal in applications where the label is purely for identification purposes and will be thrown away as part of the packaging.

Wax-Resin Ribbons

The best choice when a higher level of scratch, smear, and/or mild chemical resistance is needed in labelling applications. Premium wax/resin ribbons print well on coated paper tag and label stocks, low end films, and even some polyester labels.

Resin Ribbons

For labelling in harsh environments requiring resistance to abrasion, heat, and/or chemicals. Applications include chemical drum labelling, electronics labelling, pharmaceutical and medical device labelling, automotive and industrial work-in-process labelling. Resin ribbons are compatible with high end synthetic films such as polyester and polyamide (Kapton).
