Security Labels (Security Seals)

Security stickers are an important asset to any company which requires a tamper-evident solution or for maintaining brand integrity. Used to deter theft, counterfeiting or tampering, they provide peace of mind by providing evidence of any interference to a product.

Using the right material on a label is paramount to its application. Using the wrong adhesive or material could permanently damage a product or simply peel off without leaving evidence.

Anti-Counterfeiting

Colour shifting inks, fluorescing inks or UV inks provide measures to identify genuine and counterfeit products.

Colour Shifting Inks - provide an overt authentication feature to any product to give your customers confidence they are buying genuine goods. Components of a label shift colours when viewed from different angles.

Fluorescing Inks - Under normal light your labels will look normal, under UV illumination they will blaze with coloured fluorescence. Used as a first line defence against counterfeiting anywhere you would use standard thermal transfer ribbons

Invisible UV Inks - Hidden messages, logos or barcodes (1D or 2D) can be applied to a label, anywhere you would use standard thermal transfer ribbons. Under UV illumination these markings will flare with fluorescence which allows you to use covert track and trace procedures to monitor and track counterfeits.

Theft/Tamper Deterrent (Tamper seals)

Security Labels | Tamper proof labels | void labels | holographic stickers | hologram label | security stickerTamper proof labels can help to deter theft in two ways:

  • By leaving an adhesive mark on a product when the label has been peeled off.
  • By using a strong adhesive that deters anyone from tampering or attempting to remove the label - great for asset tracking capabilities.

Here are some of the features we're regularly requested to put on labels for clients:

  • Custom sizes and designs
  • Custom colours and inks, UV or fluorescing
  • Consecutively numbered or barcoded
  • Holograms and foil stamping
  • High and low adhesives
  • Void labels
  • Destructible materials

At PRISYMID we pride ourselves in being able to provide the right material, adhesive and finish for a label that will match the application it's being used for. For effective security it's important an expert assesses the situation, environment and application of the required label.

Hologram Stickers Vs Foil Labels

Tests have shown that consumers show a preference for products bearing a hologram labels or custom holographic stickers when looking for an original brand product or high quality products. The inclusion of a hologram on a label is a proven technique for giving credibility and a feeling of quality to your brand.

If you are considering a hologram element to your labels but are put off by the cost why not consider a foil? Hot foil stamping is considerably cheaper than producing a hologram but still looks and performs well enough for most applications.
